Catwoman, Elektra, Aeon Flux

Honestly I don't remember what happened when I watched these movies... So I'm sorry if I give a very vague review about these films, because I really don't care and almost dozed off several times watching the movies. Ay, ay, ay, ay... I mean, these movies are so bad I think I'm going just to give a short review for each movies. Lesson to everyone; female superheroes are bad. Unless they have a good solid acting, storylines, and all those things that supposedly make a movie work. Hopefuly...there will be no sequels for these movies. Please! This is bad, people. How I hate snobbish movie producers, actors and studios who thinks that they can get away with anything if they have won an that bald golden naked guy, whatishisname? Oh, Oscar. And then they decided to make a fast cash.

Catwoman: Yes, Halle Berry really thought that she's invincible, didn't she? Won the Oscar and all...I don't mind watching superheroes movies, as long they are in comic/movie continuity. But we're not talking about continuity, aren't we? Nooo...we're talking about cheap special-effects, lousy dialogues, pretty faces and damn awful acting. Say hello to Catwoman, a disaster bomb superheroine movie. Patience Phillips (Halle Berry) is working in a cosmetic company, and she accidently discovers a dark secret concocted by her boss, Laurel Hedare (Sharon Stone). She got killed and  came back alive as a woman with a ability and agility of cats....and she also have a romantic encounters with a detective named Tom Lone (Benjamin Bratt).

I wanted to scratch my eyes watching this movie. How...why...egad, I'm speechless. This is bad. Not only they managed to ruin Catwoman's reputation as this sexy crime fighter and nemesis to Batman, they managed to flush the storyline into an ill reputable mess. Have you seen her costume??? The only thing worth watching is the blink-and-you-missed-it performance by Peter Wingfield as Dr. Ivan Slavicky. The biggest problem(s) about this movie; the storyline doesn't make any sense, lotsa plot hole, stupid outfits and costume, annoying dialogues, crappy CGI, she was suppose to be Selina Kyle, etc. The ultimate nail is when Patience looked at fishes in the aquarium and behave like a cat, and she chowed down sushi and sashimi like she's a cat. Geddit? Because she's a catperson...woman...argh.

Elektra: Eeek... I had a terrible experience watching this movie. Watched it with my ex-friend and I had to endure the horrible times watching it next to her. But that's not the point. If the movie was half as good, maybe I wouldn't have a lousy time. Instead, it made me ponders about the whole personal relationship with my friends....and how goddamn awful this movie actually is. You see, pouty and athletic actress are not a good guarantee that the movie would be success. First, you need a good plot and good acting! Elektra King (Jennifer Gardner) is an assassin for hire, and she is hired to killed a father and a daughter by a group of supernatural assassins. But she changed her mind when she falls in love with the father named Mark Miller (Goran Visnjic) and trying to protect the daughter named Abby (Kirsten Prout) who apparently is not what she is appeared to be.

Somehow I managed to reduced my IQ level so low when I watched this movie because I suddenly had a short attention span. I talked, checked my telephone text message, yawning, stretch my back, slurping my drink, blah blah blah. My dearest cousin whose a comic movie maniac turned to me and said, "This is the saddest movie I've ever watch. At least Batman and Robin is decent." Are you kidding me? But, yeah -- when he already said that, it means it really that bad. Elektra costume just laughable, and I just wanted to kill Abby because she couldn't stop yapping, and when she suddenly turned into this Indonesian warrior, I wanted to laugh.

Aeon Flux: Okay, my friend owed me once for this movie. Seriously, the only reason why were watching this movie because we couldn't get the timetable we wanted, and this movie was the only one which playing next. What a dissapointed. I am not saying is very bad, but nonetheless is very boring. Complicated plot and confusing know the gist. Set 400 years in the future, when a deadly virus has wiped out the majority of the earth's population except for one last city Bregna, and ruled by a congress of scientists. Aeon Flux (Charlize Theron), is an assassin for 'Monican' rebellion, led by The Handler (Frances McDormand). When Aeon is sent on a mission to kill a government leader Trevor Goodchild (Marton Csokas), she uncovers a world of secrets.

The premise is actually not bad, considering the confusing-messy plot and dialogue, and the futuristic set really made my head dizzy because of the weird way people talk, weird way people dress, and so on. Lemme give you a hint of spoiler of this movie; if you have watched The Island, at least you understand at least a half of it. The people are beautiful, everything is clean, you know -- the whole idea of utopian where everything is perfect. And well....nothing is perfect. Including this movie. Apparently, this one is much better than the previous ones. Maybe because Charlize Theron's acting is natural compare to Halle Berry and Jennifer Gardner? Or maybe there are several famous actors in this movie so they are giving their best performances -- although they're wasting time anyway. Or maybe Johnny Lee Miller as the baddie Oren Goodchild is so HOT, I don't care about the movie anyway? Who knows.

Catwoman = 1/10

Elektra = 2/10

Aeon Flux = 3/10
